The story
How this build came together
Completed 2026
Leah and David wanted a practical, comfortable way to bring Leah’s parents down from Stanthorpe so they could be closer to family and support. The goal was to build a private, brand-new home on their property where her parents could enjoy complete independence while staying just a short walk away.
Even on a sprawling Worongary lot, secondary builds can easily get bogged down in council approvals. By carefully tailoring the design to meet every benchmark of the secondary dwelling code right from the start, we avoided a full town planning application, saving weeks of administrative back-and-forth.
The entire build took just 11 weeks from start to finish. We designed the exterior to mirror the colours and architectural lines of the primary residence so seamlessly that the family quickly nicknamed the new addition "The Eastern Wing."
Inside, the home features two generous bedrooms with ensuites, a spacious kitchen, an independent laundry, and a large wraparound deck offering views across the property. Leah and her mum made beautiful interior choices, pairing striking floor and bathroom tiles with premium tapware and plumbing fixtures to give the space a warm, custom finish. The result is a bright, low-maintenance home that gives the family total peace of mind and a place to stay connected for years to come.
